Cascadia Motion CM200DX Inverter – 225 kW, 50–480 V EV Motor Controller

The Cascadia Motion CM200DX is a liquid-cooled traction inverter for EV conversions, restomods, motorsport and light commercial vehicles. It delivers up to 225 kW (303 hp) peak and 300 A rms continuous from a 50–480 V DC battery pack, in a 6.75 kg (14.8 lb) housing that is smaller and lighter than Cascadia's older PM100 while matching the output of the PM150.

The CM200 drives both permanent-magnet synchronous motors and AC induction motors, with resolver feedback as standard and a sin/cos encoder option. It pairs naturally with Cascadia's SS-250 motor (the same combination packaged as the iM-225 integrated drive unit) and can be set up for many third-party motors.

Will it work with your battery?

The CM200 operates from 50 to 480 V DC with a 500 V absolute maximum, so it suits 400 V-class packs. A 96S lithium-ion pack (about 403 V at full charge) or a 108S pack (about 454 V) sits inside the operating window. Packs above roughly 112S, and any 800 V-class pack, exceed it.

Control and integration

Two CAN 2.0A/B ports (125 kbit/s to 1 Mbit/s) carry torque or speed commands from your VCU, with a custom .dbc file and J1939-compatible messages available. Extensive feedback broadcasts support datalogging with any CAN tool, including our free CANbus Manager. Setup uses Cascadia's free PC-based tools over RS-232.
